mmdesign underlined their commitment to the concept of 'edutainment' with their very latest commission for Football Fever, learndirect’s online interactive learning game and customer acquisition tool. The game, which was launched on 25 May, 2 weeks ahead of the opening of the FIFA World Cup 2010 tournament is a maths based game that uses facebook as one of the digital access platforms, creating further viral marketing opportunities.

Graphically engaging, Football Fever gives players a level of involvement beyond just playing the game. Players can use the Training Ground, Tell a friend and ‘Challenge a friend’. A visually strong and topical concept coupled with Flash based technology provides an interactive interface which features contemporary animation and sound effects. The leader board encourages competition amongst friends whilst in-game advertising promotes learndirect.

ITV's Countdown and Skysports' Soccer Saturday presenter Jeff Stelling had this to say about Football Fever 2010... "I'm working with learndirect during the World Cup, who have come up with a great way for footie lovers like me to brush up on their maths. Their Facebook game Football Fever 2010 is a fun virtual tournament – you can challenge your football knowledge while helping identify any maths skills gaps you might have".
