Disabled Students’ Allowances Guide
The National Association of Student Money Advisers (NASMA) is an independent, professional network of student money advisers. They are widely recognised as a leading authority on all matters relating to student finance issues. In collaboration with the government department responsible for Higher Education funding (BIS), NASMA commissioned mmdesign to create a consumer facing guide for online and print which provides information on the process of applying for a disabled students’ allowance. |

Higher Ambitions Report
mmdesign have completed work on Higher Ambitions – the Department for Business Innovation and Skills’ blueprint which sets out how universities can remain world class and provide the nation with the high level skills needed to remain competitive, while continuing to attract the brightest students and researchers.
This high profile, 120 page publication uses sophisticated graphics that are layered with photographic imagery to create a report that has both presence and gravitas. The ‘wave’ graphics are echoed throughout the document in key colours from the BIS secondary colour pallette, whilst images of a diverse range of students punctuate the 2 column page layouts.

Skiller Facts
Established by the Government in 2008, the UK Commission for Employment and Skills aims to benefit employers, individuals and government by advising how improved employment and skills systems can help the UK become a world-class leader in productivity, in employment and in having a fair and inclusive society.
Skiller Facts is a 2 colour, die cut summary of headline facts and figures on key areas productivity, performance and skills.

Talk About Local
Promotional Materials
Talk about local provide help and support to groups of people wanting to create their own community websites. mmdesign developed a range of promotional materials to help promote this important initiative that is run in conjunction with selected UK online centres and local community centres.
Colourful, urban graphics with strong, clear messages were developed to capture the imaginations of local residents and and get them thinking about what they could do and say online.

Age Positive
Reports
We’re all living longer healthier lives and people want to (and sometimes need to) work for longer. On top of this, the number of young people coming into the labour market is dropping, so it makes sense for employers to recruit a workforce that has staff from across all age groups and that they utilise skills and experience regardless of a person's age. |

DWP commissioned mmdesign to create a series of guides for online and print that would help remove age discrimination in employment. We wanted to create an enchanting, inviting visual that not only held true to the sentiment of the world of work but also paid tribute to the amazing talent that exist amongst older workforces. We created a montage of several different working environments, interacting harmoniously with each other, giving a glimpse of the underlying mechanics of change, politics and legislation that are driving the creation of a more equal society. |

Benefit Fraud Inspectorate
Closure Report
The Benefit Fraud Inspectorate were set up in 1997 after concerns were raised about the levels of fraud in government funded social benefits. BFI’s mission was to improve they way the benefits system was managed. The Audit Commission have taken over inspecting local services in response to the rationalisation of inspection which aims to better coordinate inspection and reduce its burden and costs.
The BFI closure report is a summary of their achievements.
Our creative approach uses a sober and dignified aesthetic that is formal and engaging. Strong typography, a photo journalistic approach to photography and references to a ‘painterly’ energy give this final report the gravitas that it deserve.

TV and Press Advertising Campaign
Utilising the creative concept developed by Ufi Ltd’s advertising agency, mmdesign photographed the models used for the TV animation and then designed and produced press and online ads to coincide with the national TV campaign.

NEP
Report Booklet
For the past ten years, the National Employment Panel has advised Government on labour market policies
and performance. It has pioneered ways in which employers and demand-led strategies can help disadvantaged people move from poverty into jobs that contribute to productivity and growth. mmdesign have worked on many of NEP’s publications including their legacy document and
Leading Change, Changing Lives.
The National Employment Panel has been succeeded by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills. The UK Commission began operation on 1 April 2008 and mmdesign continue to work on UKCES publications.
